Benefits of Turmeric for Weight Loss

Benefits of Turmeric for Weight Loss: how does it help to lose weight by simply adding it to your diet?

While being an extremely relished spice, turmeric can trigger weight loss.

It is made possible by turmeric’s rich contents: it contains bioactive compounds, called curcuminoids; it is a good source of vitamins B and C, linolenic acid, omega-3 fatty acids, sodium, potassium, volatile oils, fibers, carbohydrates, and proteins.

The combination of all the above mentioned substances, provides turmeric the ability to induce weight loss.

Turmeric Benefits for Weight Loss

1. Triggers Fat Loss and Prevents Fat Accumulation

Liver and stomach, often tend to accumulate extra fat, in their adipose tissues, especially in overweight persons.

This can be prevented by curcumin – the most important ingredient, found in turmeric.

2. Accelerates Diet Induced Weight Loss

A proper diet, is very important in weight loss management, and the whole idea, is to burn more calories during the day, then we actually consume.

Science says, that turmeric, makes achieving weight loss through dietary changes, even easier.

3. Turmeric Turns White Adipose Tissues Brown

By combustion of glucose and lipids, our body generates heat, and brown adipose tissues, play a vital role in this process, which makes them an integral part of the fat burning.

If we consume turmeric, its active component – curcumin – increases the level of noradrenalin, which helps to turn white adipose tissues, brown.

4. Promotes Thermogenesis

When the calories are burnt during a metabolic process, it is called “Thermogenesis”. Such process promotes weight loss.

This Thermogenesis can be promoted by two compounds, called shogaols and gingerols, found in turmeric and ginger.

5. Suppresses Obesity-Related Inflammation

An excessive fat accumulation, is often linked to inflammation, because the latter, often occurs due to certain adipokines, produced by our adipose tissues.

In obese individuals, adipokines with inflammatory actions, tend to cause oxidative stress, which this often leads to other health disorders, like diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and metabolic syndrome.

Since curcumin has anti-inflammatory properties, it suppresses the inflammatory actions of adipokines.

Therefore, the regular consumption of turmeric, can significantly reduce obesity-related inflammation.
